Bài báo có tựa đề: A nonlocal strain gradient isogeometric approach for nanoscale solar cells

Abstract: Solar energy plays an important role in the global transition toward sustainable and clean energy systems, however, the structural design of nanoscale solar cells demands advanced size-dependent models for accurate mechanical predictions. While the mechanical behavior of solar cells has been studied at macro- and micro-scales, structural responses of nanoscale solar cells remain insufficiently explored. To address this gap, this study develops a size-dependent computational approach that integrates nonlocal strain gradient theory (NSGT) into isogeometric approach (IGA) founded on a five-variable Chebyshev higher-order shear deformation theory (HSDT) for free vibration of nanoscale solar cells. Within this formulation, NURBS basis functions provide the high-order continuity required for robust and reliable nanoscale computations. Small scale effects are incorporated through two length scale parameters, enabling the unified consideration of nonlocal softening and strain gradient stiffening mechanisms. The weak-form implementation of the NSGT-HSDT model inherently involves fourth-order derivatives of basis functions, which are incompatible with standard finite element formulations with C0-continuity limitation. This limitation is naturally resolved within the present IGA, where the high-order continuity of NURBS basis functions permits direct implementation without utilizing to mixed formulations. Numerical results demonstrate the capability of the proposed approach to accurately capture size-dependent mechanical effects across a wide range of nonlocal and strain gradient parameters, offering an effective computational tool for the structural analysis and design of nanoscale solar cell structures.
