TS. Nguyễn Thành Nhơn trình bày về "Phase-field modeling of interfacial debonding in heterogeneous composites"

Tóm tắt:
The modeling and simulation of interfacial shear load transfer in fiber-reinforced composites are essential for understanding fiber pullout behavior. To address this interesting topic, this study introduces a novel phase-field framework that allows for the simulation of interfacial failure behaviors in heterogeneous composites. This approach utilizes interface and crack phase-field parameters to regularize the sharp interface and crack topologies, respectively. The total potential energy incorporates the energy functional associated with these two fields and their interactions. As a result, the proposed approach eliminates the need for introducing the traction-separation law for interfaces or performing line integration along the interfaces. Furthermore, this modeling method can effectively capture fracture patterns, including interfacial debonding and matrix cracking. Additionally, an adaptive mesh refinement strategy is implemented, utilizing a gradient-based refinement indicator. This enables automatic identification and refinement of meshes along cracks, thereby improving computational efficiency. Several numerical examples are employed to illustrate the proposed method which involves a comprehensive depiction of the complex process of crack initiation and propagation in 2D and 3D models of heterogeneous composites.
