Ton Duc Thang University Establishes Its 10th Strong Research Group, Advancing National Strategic Technologies
On May 8, 2026, in Hanoi, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) held the official ceremony to announce the establishment of the Advanced Materials for Natural and Artificial Resources (AMNR) Research Group, raising the total number of the University’s strong research groups to ten. This milestone marks an important step in TDTU’s strategy for scientific and technological development and innovation, while also demonstrating the University’s strong commitment to effectively implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.
According to Dr. Man Minh Tan, Head of the AMNR Research Group, the group will focus on key research areas including advanced materials, photonic materials, energy materials, and material simulation. These fields play a foundational role and are closely aligned with the national strategic technology portfolio under Decision No. 21/2026/QD-TTg dated April 30, 2026 issued by the Prime Minister.
In addition to promoting high-quality international publications, the group also aims to strengthen postgraduate education, expand domestic and international research collaborations, and foster the development of science and technology products with practical applications. Through these efforts, AMNR is expected to make meaningful contributions to enhancing TDTU’s research capacity, innovation capability, and academic reputation in the new stage of development.
The establishment of 10 strong research groups within only two years demonstrates TDTU’s systematic investment orientation and long-term strategic vision in realizing its goal of becoming a research-oriented university, while further affirming the University’s pioneering role in scientific research, innovation, and technology transfer.
