Ton Duc Thang University signs research collaboration agreements with leading international scientists

On July 16, 2026, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) held a signing ceremony for research collaboration agreements with two internationally renowned scientists in the fields of materials science, chemistry, and nanobiotechnology.

Joining the collaboration is Professor Adam Lee, a leading scientist at the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore, one of Asia's foremost research and innovation organizations. Professor Lee is recognized among the world's top 1% most influential scientists according to the Stanford/Elsevier rankings. He has authored more than 300 scientific publications, with an H-index of 91 and nearly 30,000 citations. His research focuses on sustainable chemistry, the rational design of porous nanomaterials for renewable energy applications, green hydrogen production, and carbon capture technologies. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and Editor-in-Chief of Materials Today Chemistry.

Also joining the collaboration is Associate Professor Vi Khanh Truong, a leading expert in nanobiotechnology at Flinders University, Australia. He has published more than 200 scientific papers in prestigious international journals, with over 16,000 citations and an H-index of 57. His research focuses on liquid metal materials, advanced biomaterials, and biomedical applications.

Under the collaboration agreements, the two scientists will work closely with TDTU in research and academic activities, including participating in research projects, developing high-impact international publications, teaching, and supervising graduate students. During their visit, both scholars also served as Keynote Speakers at the International Conference on Advanced Materials and Sustainable Development (iCAMSD 2026) and represented partner institutions co-organizing the conference.

Notably, Professor Adam Lee and Associate Professor Vi Khanh Truong will officially join the Biophysics Research Group at TDTU's Institute of Advanced Technology (IAST), contributing to the University's interdisciplinary research capacity and the development of high-impact, application-oriented research directions.

The collaboration with Professor Adam Lee and Associate Professor Vi Khanh Truong is expected to further enhance TDTU's research quality, expand its international academic network, and strengthen the University's research groups in line with international standards.

To date, Ton Duc Thang University has attracted more than 280 international scientists and experts from universities and research institutes worldwide to collaborate in research and education, reaffirming its commitment to internationalization and research excellence.
