Ton Duc Thang University organizes the 3rd International Conference on Advanced Smart Materials and Structures 2024 (ASMaS2024)

On July 3, 2024, the 3rd International Conference on Advanced Smart Materials and Structures 2024 (ASMaS 2024), co-organized by Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), Lomonosov Moscow State University (Russia), and the University of Wollongong (Australia), was held at TDTU.

ASMaS 2024 featured the participation of three esteemed scholars in the field: Professor Le Khanh Chau -Senior Researcher at Ton Duc Thang University (Vietnam), Ton Duc Thang University, Vietnam; Professor Weihua Li, Senior Professor and Director of Advanced Manufacturing Technologies Power House at the University of Wollongong; and Professor Nguyen Xuan Hung, Director of the Director of CIRTech Institute, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), Vietnam.

This major conference saw the attendance of numerous scientists from universities worldwide, including the University of Wollongong (Australia), Lomonosov Moscow State University (Russia), Keele University (UK), Technical University of Berlin (Germany), Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (Russia), and various universities in Vietnam.

The conference served as a platform for interdisciplinary exchange in natural science and technology, focusing on five key areas: Mathematical Models and Methods; Smart Materials; Smart and Functionally Graded Structures; Nonlinear Control, Automation, and Robotics and Data-driven Computational Mechanics and Machine Learning. Forty-six outstanding scientific research projects were presented, and after thorough review and selection by the Scientific Council, the best papers will be published in a special issue of the Journal of Intelligent Material Systems and Structures (WoS).

With a diverse range of delegates and research topics, the academic discussions at the conference highlighted the necessity for new, interdisciplinary research methods in natural science and technology. This also demonstrated that TDTU is becoming one of the leading centers connecting international scholars in these fields.
