Seminar on the topic: Quantum world
At 9:00 a.m., March 2, 2026, IAST Institute organized a seminar at Hanoi Office, 13 Hang Bot Lane, O Cho Dua Ward, HN with detailed content as follows:
Professor. Dr. Pham Quoc Long reported on the topic: Ferrite based Nanocomposites for energy harvestor
Abstract:
Quantum mechanics is one of the greatest achievements of 20th-century science. It not only changed our understanding of the nature of matter but also laid the foundation for the modern technological revolution.
Quantum mechanics is the foundation of modern physics, describing the behavior of matter and energy at microscopic scales such as atoms, electrons, and photons. Unlike Isaac Newton's classical mechanics, quantum mechanics is based on probability and discrete quantities (quantization).
The emergence of quantum mechanics in the early 20th century profoundly changed humanity's understanding of the structure of matter and paved the way for a range of technologies such as lasers, semiconductors, and modern quantum computers.
Quantum mechanics raises many philosophical problems:
• Copenhagen interpretation (Bohr)
• Erwin Schrödinger's cat paradox
• The debate between Albert Einstein and Niels Bohr
Problems such as quantum entanglement have been experimentally verified and awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2022.
Leading research centers worldwide are investing heavily in this field. Continued research in quantum mechanics promises to open up breakthroughs in science and technology in the 21st century such as:
i) Quantum information and quantum computing
ii) Quantum materials
iii) Quantum field theory
iv) Quantum gravity
