Congratulations to Prof. Dr. Sci. Pham Duc Chinh and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Sang on Reappointment as Professor and Associate Professor in 2025

On December 10, 2025, Ton Duc Thang University solemnly held the Ceremony for the Announcement and Presentation of Appointment and Reappointment Decisions for Professors and Associate Professors in 2025. The event aimed to recognize and honor the valuable contributions of faculty members and scientists to the University’s mission of education, research, and development. It also serves to inspire continual academic advancement and improve the quality of the University’s teaching staff, meeting the institution’s growth requirements in the new phase.

In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Dao, President of Ton Duc Thang University, emphasized the crucial role of Professors and Associate Professors in the University’s development strategy and efforts to enhance training quality. He highlighted that Professors and Associate Professors are not only key drivers of educational excellence but also active contributors to the cultivation of a high-quality workforce for society.

On this occasion, the Institute of Advanced Technology is honored to have Prof. Dr. Sci. Pham Duc Chinh reappointed as Professor. This reappointment is a well-deserved recognition of his persistent efforts, outstanding scientific achievements, and remarkable contributions to research and teaching—significantly advancing the development of both the Institute of Advanced Technology and Ton Duc Thang University.

• Material homogenization
• Plastic failure of structures under variable loads

Selected scientific achievements:

• Recipient of the Ta Quang Buu State Award (2019)
• Principal investigator of five NAFOSTED-funded projects and two ministerial-level projects
• Author of two specialized monographs
• Published 122 WoS-indexed papers, including at least 93 papers as submitting author
• Successfully supervised six PhD candidates and two Master’s students

Also on this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Sang was reappointed as Associate Professor in Physics, with research interests focusing on optical physics, optoelectronics, and semiconductor materials.

We believe that this important milestone will serve as a source of inspiration for Prof. Dr. Sci. Pham Duc Chinh and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Sang to continue developing their expertise and making even greater contributions to the University’s growth and the broader scientific community.
