Congratulations to Prof. Dr. Le Khanh Chau on the publication in the top-tier journal
The Institute for Advanced Study in Technology (IAST) is proud to congratulate Prof. Dr. Le Khanh Chau on his recent publication in the prestigious international journal Computer Methods in Applied Mechanics and Engineering. This is one of the world's leading journals in the field of Applied Mechanics and Engineering, with a high Impact Factor of 7.3 and a CiteScore of 12.8.
The research, titled "Asymptotically accurate and geometric locking-free finite element implementation of a refined shell theory" conducted by Prof. Chau and his colleagues, focuses on developing a new Finite Element Method (FEM) that solves two major problems in the simulation of shell structures:
- Asymptotically Accurate: Ensures that calculation results become exact when the shell's thickness is very small compared to its overall size.
- Geometric Locking-Free: Eliminates the "locking" phenomenon that occurs in previous methods, making the model more stable and accurate, especially for thin structures.
This work not only has profound academic significance but also opens up broad practical applications in many industries, including aerospace, mechanical engineering, and construction. This is a proud achievement that contributes to raising the prestige and standing of the Institute for Advanced Technology in particular and Ton Duc Thang University in general on the global scientific research map.
IAST extends its most sincere congratulations to Prof. Dr. Le Khanh Chau, wishing him continued brilliant success and strong contributions to scientific development and the training of the next generation.
Once again, our heartfelt congratulations!
