Ton Duc Thang University hosts a grand opening ceremony for the Institute for Advanced Study in Technology Office in Hanoi.

On December 4, 2024, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) celebrated the grand opening of its Institute for Advanced Study in Technology (IAST) office in Hanoi, located at the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, 99 Tran Quoc Toan Street.

The event was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including Tong Van Bang, Head of the Organization Board of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL), and Nguyen Minh Dung, Chairman of the VGCL Inspection Committee. Academicians from various research institutes and universities in Hanoi also attended.

On behalf of TDTU, there were Dr. Vu Anh Duc, Party Secretary and Chairman of the University Council; Dr. Tran Trong Dao, Chairman of the Science and Training Council and President of the University; along with other leaders of the University Council, the University's Board of Management, and experts and scientists from the Institute of Advanced Technology.

The event signifies a new chapter in the university's growth, characterized by an expansion of research and the development of a highly skilled workforce across the country.

Dr. Vu Anh Duc, Chairman of the TDTU University Council, on behalf of the Party Committee and the University's Board of Management, presented a congratulatory flower basket to the Institute for Advanced Study in Technology.

This marks not only a significant milestone in TDTU's development strategy but also reaffirms the university's commitment to expanding its education and research network. It further solidifies TDTU's position as a leading higher education institution in Vietnam, pioneering research and innovation.

The Hanoi office of the Institute for Advanced Study in Technology - TDTU will serve as a hub for fundamental research, application development, technology transfer, and advanced human resource training in Hanoi, focusing on fields such as advanced materials, smart materials and advanced structures, biophysics, and materials mechanics. The office aims to strengthen and expand collaborations with universities and research institutes in Hanoi and neighboring northern provinces.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Tran Trong Dao, President of TDTU, said: “The opening of TDTU's Hanoi office is a significant milestone, laying the foundation for Ton Duc Thang University to fulfill its educational and research mission in the northern region. Following the establishment of campuses in Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong, the university aims to develop human resources and foster closer ties with localities nationwide, contributing to the political tasks assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Therefore, the university hopes to continue receiving the attention and support of the leadership of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and our partner organizations. In particular, TDTU looks forward to collaborating and sharing knowledge with educators and scientists from universities and research institutes in the future.”

The opening of the IAST office in Hanoi will also expand opportunities for collaboration and networking with businesses, organizations, government agencies, and the scientific community in neighboring localities. This is a significant opportunity for scientists to participate in large-scale research projects, as well as develop and apply advanced science and technology achievements, contributing to the country's sustainable development.

In addition to opening the Institute for Advanced Study in Technology office in Hanoi, TDTU, in collaboration with the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, has officially launched a joint research space at the Institute's headquarters at 99 Tran Quoc Toan, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi.
