Congratulations to Dr. Ngo Son Tung on the publication in the top-tier journal.
The Institute for Advanced Study in Technology (IAST) is proud to congratulate Dr. Ngo Son Tung on his recent publication in the prestigious international journal The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, one of the world's leading journals in the fields of Physical Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences.

The study Varoglutamstat Inhibits the Dimerization of the Aβ25–35 Fragment in Aqueous Solution by Dr. Tung and colleagues focuses on using molecular dynamics simulations to explore the mechanism of action of varoglutamstat on the structure of amyloid-beta (Aβ) peptides, specifically the Aβ25–35 fragment. This is the shortest peptide fragment in the Aβ chain capable of forming large beta-sheet (β-sheet) structures and Amyloid fibrils similar to the full-length Aβ1-42 peptide. This is the characteristic structure of the Amyloid plaques found in the brains of Alzheimer's patients. The research results have clarified how varoglutamstat reduces the intermolecular binding ability of Aβ peptides, thereby inhibiting the formation of amyloid protofibril structures. Notably, the results indicate that studying an Aβ-inhibiting ligand requires longer MD simulation times than previously thought, potentially up to tens of microseconds. The study can therefore contribute to enhancing the prospects for the research and development of therapies for neurodegenerative diseases.
This is an exciting result published in a prestigious international scientific journal, which also contributes to enhancing the reputation and position of IAST and Ton Duc Thang University in general on the international scientific research map.
IAST extends its sincere congratulations to Dr. Ngo Son Tung and his research team. We wish you and the team continued success with many more quality research studies.
Once again, our heartfelt congratulations!
